Introduction: The AI for Good Global Summit is the United Nations flagship multi‑stakeholder platform dedicated to translating artificial intelligence innovation into tangible progress toward Sustainable Development Goals. Convened by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with over 50 UN agencies and co‑convened with the Swiss Confederation, the 2026 edition runs back‑to‑back with the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance, gathering policymakers, global health authorities, clinical practitioners, technologists, academia and civil‑society representatives from more than 160 countries.
Jointly led by ITU and WHO, the health‑focused track prioritizes responsible, inclusive deployment of AI across global health systems. It addresses critical gaps in real‑world AI‑enabled public‑health delivery, advances technical and ethical frameworks for AI‑assisted rehabilitation medicine, and targets actionable solutions to narrow digital health equity divides between high‑income and low‑ and middle‑income settings.
The summit offers institutional partners opportunities to co‑design joint workshops, deliver expert keynote and panel interventions, and launch pilot‑oriented collaborative initiatives. Special sessions curated by the Global Health Organization (GHO) are embedded within the official programme, creating dedicated venues for invited global experts to share field evidence, technical standards, translational cases and cross‑border implementation experience. Outcomes will feed into global policy briefs, standard‑setting workstreams and multi‑country pilot programmes to accelerate scalable, safe and equitable AI‑for‑health adoption worldwide.
