Seattle News The founding meeting of the GHO Respiratory Medicine Youth Committee was grandly held in Seattle, USA. The event brought together 320 young respiratory medicine experts from 46 countries across the globe to witness the official launch of the GHO Respiratory Medicine Youth Committee.

During the meeting, young specialists from all nations conducted in-depth discussions on global prevention and control of respiratory diseases, basic and clinical research of pulmonary disorders, equitable access to respiratory care, international collaboration for young researchers, and climate change linked to respiratory health.

The committee is committed to building an international academic platform for young respiratory scholars worldwide. It seeks to break geographical barriers, facilitate cross-border sharing of clinical techniques, research discoveries and public health experience, empower young clinicians and scientists, advance early screening, chronic disease management, critical care and translational innovation for respiratory diseases, and reduce global respiratory health inequities.

Participants voted and adopted the committee constitution and the first-phase work plan. In the coming years, the committee will host international academic conferences, launch multi-center joint research projects, establish exchange programs for young scholars, and deliver capacity-building training on respiratory health in low- and middle-income countries.
