BOSTON – The inaugural meeting of the GHO Rehabilitation Medicine Youth Committee was held in Boston, USA. More than 260 young clinicians, researchers and professionals in rehabilitation medicine from 32 countries across the globe attended the founding ceremony.

The Rehabilitation Medicine Youth Committee serves as a global interdisciplinary platform for young talents in rehabilitation. It focuses on frontier fields including neurorehabilitation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, rehabilitation engineering and AI-enabled rehabilitation technology.

The committee aims to unite young professionals worldwide, advance clinical innovation, scientific research collaboration and talent development in rehabilitation medicine, facilitate the exchange of rehabilitation resources among regions, strengthen global rehabilitation service systems, and promote functional health for all populations.

The founding event featured the official launch ceremony, election of the first committee members, keynote lectures and thematic workshops. Young delegates discussed global challenges in rehabilitation medicine, frameworks for youth research collaboration and international multicenter research projects. Participants agreed that the new committee will create a sustainable international partnership channel for young rehabilitation practitioners to advance inclusive rehabilitation worldwide.
