GHO has established a research partnership with The University of Tokyo in the field of health science. Leveraging respective institutional strengths, both sides carry out joint research covering global public health, chronic disease prevention and control, health technology translation and population health assessment.

Cross-national expert teams are formed to share research data and laboratory platforms for project research, academic seminars, personnel exchanges and joint training for young researchers, so as to generate cutting-edge health science outcomes. Focusing on practical health challenges, the partnership promotes translating research evidence into public health policies, builds an Asia-Pacific academic hub for health, delivers practical health intervention programmes and advances collaborative development of global health.
