International Health News —Global Health Organization (GHO) has signed a strategic partnership on AI for Health with the University of Cambridge. The initiative will be delivered by the Cambridge Centre for AI in Medicine (CCAIM).

The alliance brings together GHO’s global public health network and Cambridge’s leading expertise in biomedical AI, health big-data and drug discovery. It targets four key areas: AI-powered disease risk prediction, AI-accelerated drug development, ethical governance for medical AI, and worldwide talent capacity-building.

Federated learning will be adopted to protect cross-border health data. A joint working group will carry out collaborative research, academic events and grants for early-career researchers. White papers and practical guidelines will be published to translate cutting-edge medical-AI tools into real-world use. The partnership aims to support developing nations and foster a fair, responsible global health-AI innovation ecosystem.
